Do not wash your down jacket too often – but don’t wait too long either. Dirty garments do not keep warmth as good as clean garments. Salt, sweat and dirt can decrease the isolating power of the down. If a stain has occurred, try to treat it with a mild down-specific detergent.

Always follow the wash care label!

Most of our down jackets can be washed in washing machine at home, but in some special cases you might need to hand it over to a specialist. We recommend that you wash larger down jackets in washing machines with a capacity of minimum 8 kg.

Wash your down jacket with other down garments – but do not fill the machine entirely. If the machine is too filled, then there might be a risk that the down garment gets damaged.

Important to know when washing your jacket in the washing machine:

1. Read through the garment’s wash care label.
   
2. Empty the pockets and close all zippers and velcro tapes.
3. Turn the garment inside out.
4. We recommend a down-specific detergent.
5. We recommend you NOT to use fabric softener when washing.
6. When the washing program is finished it is important that you immediately remove the jacket from the machine and start drying the down jacket and reactivate the water repellency.
