Sustainability Policy

Our ambition – to offer sustainable fashion

We want to create sustainable fashion in a world undergoing rapid change. We are involving customers, employees, sales agents and suppliers, in our long-term endeavor to integrate environmental, social and economic priorities into our brand ROCKANDBLUE. We want you to feel confident and safe with our garments.

Our mission – make it easy to make the best choice

Our most important contribution to sustainability depends on how we design, what material choices we make and how we produce our clothing. We make it easy for you as a customer to make the best choices.

Design - We strive to design clothes that are sustainable in every step in the value-chain. To ensure that our garments last a long time we prize high quality in both timeless and trendy design. Our design makes it easier to repair and recycle the material.

Material - We strive to choose pure materials from secure, certified sources, including renewable or recycled material. By providing outerwear that last longer we contribute to less consumption in the long run.

We have an ecology friendly finish on most of our products called Bionic- Finish ® ECO. The outshell fabric is treated with a new technique making the garment repellant to all water based fluids and water solvable dirt - without changing the touch or look nor the breathability of the garment. The coatingis more environmentally friendly than all past durable water-repellent finishes on the market, being free from Fluorocarbons and 100% bio-degradable. It is a safe option in terms of ecology, with responsibility for our environment. Read more about ionic- Finish ® ECO certificate here:

Suppliers - We cooperate closely with our suppliers regarding materials and traceability. Our ambition is to secure a supply-chain which respects animal welfare ethics and has minimal environmental impact. We want to contribute to people’s opportunities to provide for themselves, fair working-conditions and safe workplaces.

Animal Welfare - House of SAKI does not trade endangered species (following the recommendations and lists of CITES). We only collaborate with suppliers who agree to our Code of Conduct, which requires that the animals are treated with respect.

The House Of SAKI Code of Conduct is based upon:

• The United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights including Convention on the Rights of the Child.

• ILO’s (International Labour Organization, a trade union organization within the UN-system) Core Conventions on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

• The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.

• The United Nations Convention against Corruption.

• The CITES Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

No endangered spices are allowed in the House of SAKI production. Only bred animals that have been brought up under good conditions are the source for the raw-material for the products. The Five Freedoms of animal welfare are respected:

  • Freedom from Hunger and Thirst
  • Freedom from Discomfort
  • Freedom from Pain, Injury or Disease
  • Freedom to Express Normal Behavior
  • Freedom from Fear and Distress

Down – ROCKANDBLUE aims to ensure that down and feathers comes from animals that have not been subjected to any unnecessary harm such as live feather plucking.

We are certified to RDS. Products certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) contain down or feathers from farms certified to animal welfare requirements. Only the products which are covered by a valid transaction certificate are RDS certified. Read more about the RDS certificate here:

ROCKANDBLUE is certified to the Responsible Down Standard, which independetly certifies down against animal welfare requirements and tracks it from the source to the final product.

Fur – We choose to include fur in our collections since it is a fantastic natural material. Natural fur is a sustainable fashion material, a material that has been used through all times and which can be absorbed back into nature’s own cycle. It has long durability and can provide incredible warmth.

The decision to wear real fur or not is a personal one. Some wear real fur for function, some love the look of it and some want to avoid it completely. We respect all choices and want to produce collections that include products according to all of the wishes mentioned above.

Leather - The leather used in our production is a by-product from the food industry.

Leather is a fantastic material in many ways. Beautiful and versatile. Comfortable, breathable and resistant. With time, leather will develop patina and unique character. By caring for your leather products, you contribute to sustainable consumption as it will last for several years to come.

• Clean of spots with a slightly damp cloth.

• Hang leather garments to ventilate between wearing them, but avoid direct sunlight.

• Always hang a leather garment on a well-fitting clothes hanger. If wet, dry flat in room temperature.

• Keep leather soft and conditioned with a specialist leather balm. Apply a small amount with a cloth and buff gently.

• When travelling and storing, roll leather garments to avoid fold creases.

Skills and Communication – our success factors

We make sure that our employees have the necessary skills to be able to contribute to our ambitions.

Furthermore, we share our knowledge with you as a customer to inform good choices. To ensure long-lasting garments we encourage you to take care of and cherish your clothes.

We strive to be transparent regarding our clothing from raw material to production and throughout the entire life cycle.

Our way of working – Collaboration, Structure and Culture

Our way of working is built on collaboration with our sales agents, suppliers and customers. Our systematic approach ensures compliance with laws and regulations as well as fulfillment of our ambitions. We monitor regularly our objectives to make improvements and, if necessary, we reevaluate our priorities.

The strategy contains three focus areas; materials and sourcing, production and product life cycle.

We want to take responsibility for our contribution to the world and the resource use of our planet. Through our collections, partnerships and employees, we must ensure the responsible stewardship of materials from raw material to the end of life as well as an ethical and socially just supply chain.
